2024 Walk for a Million Dreams

On October 26, 2024, over 1,500 community members gathered at Stramler Park to celebrate inclusion, raise awareness, and walk alongside individuals with Down syndrome for our 2024 Walk for a Million Dreams. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, teams, vendors, and supporters, we raised over $51,000 to fund our year-round programs and support services.
This event wasn’t just about walking—it was about showing up for our community, standing for inclusion, and making dreams possible for individuals with Down syndrome across Kern County. From the opening ceremony to the dance parties, vendor village, and family celebrations, the day was full of joy, unity, and impact.
The Impact of your support
Because of the success of the 2024 Walk:
- We launched new inclusive social groups for teens and adults of all abilities
- We welcomed 12 newly diagnosed families with personalized support
- We hosted our first-ever inclusive fashion show, Once Upon a Runway, on World Down Syndrome Day
- We provided ongoing support groups, educational workshops, and family events throughout the year
Every step taken and every dollar raised went directly back into serving our local community. As a completely volunteer-run nonprofit, 100% of the funds raised stay right here in Kern County.
